Blue Cave Montenegro: The Ultimate Guide

The Blue Cave is situated along the western coast of the Luštica Peninsula, near the settlements of Žanjice and Plavi Horizonti, in Montenegro. 

The closest major town to the cave is Herceg Novi, while Tivat and Kotor, popular travel hubs with easy access to the Bay of Kotor, are also common starting points for tours.

Although Herceg Novi offers relatively easy access, multiple departure points from nearby areas such as Kotor, Tivat, and Budva make the cave accessible from various locations along the coast.

The cave itself is only reachable by boat, as it’s nestled within a rugged part of the shoreline with no road access. 

Surrounded by cliffs and the shimmering waters of the Adriatic Sea, the Blue Cave’s glowing waters make it one of the most unique spots on Montenegro’s coastline.
