Adriatic Film Awards Announced at Sarajevo Film Festival

The second edition of the Adriatic Film Awards will bring film and television creators and industry professionals from across the region to Porto Montenegro from 23 to 25 October 2026.

The upcoming edition of the Adriatic Film Awards (AFA) was presented during a special event at the Sarajevo Film Festival, marking the next chapter for a regional initiative dedicated to celebrating excellence in film and television.

The AFA celebrates the best of regional filmmaking and television while helping to strengthen its international visibility. More than 800 members of the Film and TV Academy of the Adriatic Region vote for productions from across the former Yugoslavia released during the 2025/2026 season.

Jovan Marjanović, Director of the Sarajevo Film Festival, welcomed guests at the opening of the event, expressing his satisfaction that AFA continues to bring together an increasing number of partners around the shared goal of strengthening connections within the regional film and television industry.

“I believe that together we are building a platform that can further connect our film and television industry. In doing so, we are giving greater visibility to talent and productions from across the region, while also creating opportunities for new collaborations and important new work.”

He also thanked the Film Centre of Montenegro and Strategist, AFA’s exclusive partner in Montenegro, for their contribution to the development of the regional initiative.

“I am delighted that we are returning to Montenegro, and I am confident that the second edition of AFA will be even stronger and more substantial. This year, approximately 30 films and six television series are in contention, and with only a few days remaining before voting closes, I encourage Academy members to cast their votes and take part in selecting the region’s outstanding productions and creative talent.”

Sarajevo, 17. avgust 2026. godine – U okviru Sarajevo Film Festivala održan je događaj posvećen drugom izdanju Adriatic Film Awards (AFA), koji će od 23. do 25. oktobra u Porto Montenegru okupiti filmske i televizijske autore i profesionalce iz cijelog regiona.

AFA nagrade promovišu najbolje regionalno stvaralaštvo i doprinose njegovoj većoj međunarodnoj vidljivosti.

U kategoriji filma biće uručeno sedam priznanja: za najbolji film, najbolju glavnu glumicu, najboljeg glavnog glumca, zvijezdu u usponu, najbolju režiju, najbolji scenario i najbolji debitantski film. Kategorija televizijskih serija obuhvata tri nagrade za najbolju seriju, najbolju glavnu glumicu i najboljeg glavnog glumca. Dio AFA vikenda činiće i besplatne filmske projekcije nominovanih ostvarenja.

AFA slavi izuzetan talenat Jadranske regije, povezuje naše zemlje kroz film i televiziju, dajući našim pričama snažniji glas i veću međunarodnu vidljivost.
